<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Once upon a time, I lived in another habitat with my older sister Hazel and my mom and dad. Hazel tolerated me being around, even though I don&#8217;t think she was ever that fond of me before the break-in. I sure liked her being around because she wasn&#8217;t afraid of anything, not a bug or a ~shiver~ spider not even the occasional bat that came to visit.  My dad wasn&#8217;t too fond of the bats but that is another story. Hazel was a great protector of the habitat.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">One day while Hazel and I were chomping chow after a rough day of napping, chasing and hissing the most unusual thing occurred.  Right above my feeding station, there was a cracking sound in the ceiling and the next thing I knew&#8230;</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/alg_resize_raccoon.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1620" title="614-02837639" src="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/alg_resize_raccoon-300x223.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="223" /></a><strong><span style="color: #000000;">This is what came falling out of the ceiling! </span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"> Hazel screamed Raccoon! And this really scared me because Hazel never screamed and I didn&#8217;t even know what raccoon meant!  I was frozen in fear.  Then Hazel said, &#8220;Gracey follow me!&#8221; and we ran super fast into the living room squeezing </span></strong></p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Hi Friends!  It has been 16 weeks now that I have been using the <a title="Smart Cat Box" href="http://www.smartcatbox.com" target="_blank">Smart Cat Box. </a>Now I typically don&#8217;t like to discuss my litter pan issues but  I think this is important information to share with you.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">You might remember that we had a discussion about <a title="To Clump or Not to Clump?" href="http://http://conservationcubclub.com/home/?p=554 " target="_blank">To Clump or Not to Clump? </a> In this discussion we talked about the issues with clay litter.  My parents were purchasing  a popular brand of natural clumping litter for me to use.  It was not a clay litter but made from natural biodegradable corn fibers.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Some of you might already know that I suffered from pancreatitis and <a title="Feline Diabetes" href="http://www.felinediabetes.com" target="_blank">transient diabetes. </a>During this time, it was necessary to test my glucose levels on a regular basis.  Unfortunately, this meant getting an ear or paw stick with a super sharp pointy needle.  My parents said it hurt them more than me, but I don&#8217;t know about that.  I never got to sneak up on them and poke them in the ear with a needle  to see if it hurt me more than them.  Sorry for the digression.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">One happy day in May, our friend Jone told me about the Smart Cat Box.  I got in contact with Sara Maguire, the creator of the  Smart Cat Box.  Sara was so concerned about my sticky situation that she offered to send me a Smart Cat Box to try. Sara, is a genius because she designed the Smart Cat Box with a urine collection system (your pee goes into a container).  Now my parents can use a <a title="Keto Diastix Test Strips" href="http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/-strse-301/Bayer-Keto-dsh-Diastix-Reagent-Strips/Detail.bok" target="_blank"> Keto Diastix </a></span></strong></p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>H</strong><strong><span style="color: #000000;">appy Wednesday Friends! I am calling today Whoops! Wednesday. My mom and I were cleaning the office and we found some copies of <a title="The Tiniest Tiger Paperback" href="http://http://conservationcubclub.com/home/?page_id=96 " target="_blank"><em>The Tiniest Tiger</em></a> and when we looked inside the front cover, we said &#8220;Whoops!&#8221;</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"> I  will show you why.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Signed-book-093.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1784" title="Signed book 093" src="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Signed-book-093-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="300" /></a>Inside this copy the writing is very nice.  You can read the writing and it is flowing the way it is supposed to flow.  My paw-tograph is nice and solid too.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Now here is an example that made us say Whoops!</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/whoops-001.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1786" title="whoops! 001" src="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/whoops-001-218x300.jpg" alt="" width="218" height="300" /></a></span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Even though my paw-tograph is nice and solid.  My mom meant to write the name Avery but for some reason her left paw wrote Abery. Whoops!</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Here is another example.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/whoops-001.jpg"></a><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Whoops-Wednesday-005.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1775" title="Whoops Wednesday 005" src="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Whoops-Wednesday-005-202x300.jpg" alt="" width="202" height="300" /></a></span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Here my paw slipped while trying to paw-tograph this copy.  I tried to make it better with a second paw-tograph but it just made the messy one look even messier!</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Whoops!</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">So we have decided to have The Tiniest Tiger&#8217;s  Whoops! Wednesday </span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Today we will be giving away 2 copies of The Tiniest Tiger that are Whoops! copies.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">There is nothing wrong with the books other than  a little messy hand writing and/or maybe a slipped paw-tograph.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>If you would like to win a Whoops! Wednesday copy of <em>The Tiniest Tiger</em></strong></p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">And it is not just the mowing and the trimming that I am talking about.  I am worried about the use of pesticides to keep lawns greener than green! Is it really so bad for the grass to be dotted with dandelions and other interesting plants?</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></strong></p>
<p>      <div id="attachment_1707" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 310px"><strong><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Honey-Bee.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-1707" title="Honey Bee" src="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Honey-Bee.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="233" /></a></strong><p class="wp-caption-text">Honeybees  are responsible for every third bite on your dinner plate!</p></div>    <strong> </strong>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Did you know that more than fifty billion honeybees have died within the last year in the United States due to Colony Collapse Disorder?</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Bees are social creatures but they are also very smart. When they become sick, they do not return to their colony so as not to infect the other bees. But when all the bees are sick and do not return the queen bee is left alone in the hive. She is then helpless and she too perishes.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">But what is making our honeybees sick?  I found the answers from our Friends at <a title="The Honeybee Conservancy" href="http://networkedblogs.com/77Nyq" target="_blank">The Honeybee Conservancy.</a></span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">A scientific study in 2005 showed that three-quarters of the 66 different pesticides found in one hive were toxic to bees.  But even worse, the combination of the toxins increased the poison as much as by 1000 times. This same study found 121 different pesticides in 887 samples of bees, wax, pollen and hives.  Scientists believe that pesticides are the reason for <a title="Colony Collapse Disorder" href="http://http://maarec.psu.edu/pressReleases/FallDwindleUpdate0107.pdf" target="_blank">Colony Collapse Disorder.</a></span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">The Honeybee Conservancy told me that our bees are harvesting pollen laced with lethal poison and feeding it to their young. Many of these systemic pesticides are from a family of highly toxic chemicals called <a title="neonicotinoids pesticides" href="http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&amp;source=web&amp;cd=2&amp;ved=0CBkQFjAB&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FNeonicotinoid&amp;ei=Dmx6TLSOHsOblgfv-dC1Cg&amp;usg=AFQjCNGg_8r1ghj5AuZLuaUIAugxj3D3kg&amp;sig2=WVTU9zh6UW2597toEiV9lw" target="_blank">neonicotinoids</a>. Bees exposed to these chemicals exhibit symptoms similar to humans afflicted with <a title="Wikipedia Parkinson's disease" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson%27s_disease" target="_blank">Parkinson’s disease </a>or Alzheimer’s.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"> </span></strong></p>
<p>      <div id="attachment_1763" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 269px"><strong><a href="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Spray-Truck.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-1763" title="Spray Truck" src="http://conservationcubclub.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Spray-Truck.jpg" alt="" width="259" height="194" /></a></strong><p class="wp-caption-text">Spraying Pesticides- Mosquito Fogging</p></div>    <strong> </strong>  </p>
