The Tiniest Tiger on Meditation
Friends, sometimes there is too much stress in our lives. Stress can stalk you or it can pounce on you out of the blue. Today, Lazy Leopard and I have decided to take it easy. We are going to meditate and soak up some sunshine. Even though we have a lot of things to do, we think it is important to take a time out for ourselves. Maybe you can do the same. Just take a little time out from your day and relax and think Hakuna matata with us.
Ready, set…. relax.
“No Lazy Leopard, not medication! Meditation.”
Friends, I am sorry about that interruption. Lazy Leopard thought it was The Tiniest Tiger on Medication. ~heavy sigh~ He can’t help it, he really can’t.
Besides, look at him, he thinks he is prince of the palace with the new pillows on my sofa!
Deep breath in……slowly exhale out.
shhhhh! meow for now.
Lions Soaking Up the Sunshine!
I meant that for the sun and for all of my Friends that brighten my day!
Now that the morning air is a little crisp and there is a gentle breeze, I couldn’t help but think about our big cousin Joseph at Big Cat Rescue. Now I know, you can’t tell the difference between Joseph and me, Gracey, The Tiniest Tiger and that is alright for a Tuesday after a long week-end. And besides, I am really getting good at my big cousin imitations, so try not to let it get you down if you can’t tell us apart.
We are both enjoying the sun and we both have big smiles on our faces.
Hakuna matata!
Thank you everyone! Meow for Now!
The Tiniest Tiger is Wondering Will You Take the Guilty Poll?
Friends, I am a little upset, not a lot, but just a little. Nobody seemed concerned that I was accused of breaking my mom’s favorite piece of green pottery. Nobody even mentioned it. Do you think that I broke the pottery too even though there is overwhelming evidence in the story pointing to the raccoon?
So now as I enter into my “Thinking Circle” I am wondering if you will Take The Guilty Poll. Here are the 3 suspects.
- Hazel- No doubt she was my dad’s favorite. He didn’t give me the time of day before the super sad day Hazel went to the Rainbow Bridge. Hazel never was accused of any wrong doing. Maybe that is because she didn’t
The Tiniest Tiger’s Raccoon Encounter!
Once upon a time, I lived in another habitat with my older sister Hazel and my mom and dad. Hazel tolerated me being around, even though I don’t think she was ever that fond of me before the break-in. I sure liked her being around because she wasn’t afraid of anything, not a bug or a ~shiver~ spider not even the occasional bat that came to visit. My dad wasn’t too fond of the bats but that is another story. Hazel was a great protector of the habitat.
One day while Hazel and I were chomping chow after a rough day of napping, chasing and hissing the most unusual thing occurred. Right above my feeding station, there was a cracking sound in the ceiling and the next thing I knew…
This is what came falling out of the ceiling!
Hazel screamed Raccoon! And this really scared me because Hazel never screamed and I didn’t even know what raccoon meant! I was frozen in fear. Then Hazel said, “Gracey follow me!” and we ran super fast into the living room squeezing
The Tiniest Tiger’s CCC Sponsors Tiger Haven’s Bianca!
Friends, I am super excited to tell you that our Conservation Cub Club has just sponsored Bianca, a Tiger at Tiger Haven. Your support by purchasing great products you need from Gracey’s Avon for Animals enabled our The Tiniest Tiger’s Conservation Cub Club to sponsor Bianca! I thought that it was appropriate that the purchases of Avon’s beauty products helped us sponsor Bianca the Beautiful!
Tiger Haven depends on the kindness and generosity of others to keep our rescued big cousins healthy, comfortable and their chow bowls filled. Sponsoring a rescued Great Cat for one year helps provide the special care our big cousins need!
Super Hurrah!
The Tiniest Tiger Loves the Smart Cat Box. Saves $ Too!
Hi Friends! It has been 16 weeks now that I have been using the Smart Cat Box. Now I typically don’t like to discuss my litter pan issues but I think this is important information to share with you.
You might remember that we had a discussion about To Clump or Not to Clump? In this discussion we talked about the issues with clay litter. My parents were purchasing a popular brand of natural clumping litter for me to use. It was not a clay litter but made from natural biodegradable corn fibers.
Some of you might already know that I suffered from pancreatitis and transient diabetes. During this time, it was necessary to test my glucose levels on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this meant getting an ear or paw stick with a super sharp pointy needle. My parents said it hurt them more than me, but I don’t know about that. I never got to sneak up on them and poke them in the ear with a needle to see if it hurt me more than them. Sorry for the digression.
One happy day in May, our friend Jone told me about the Smart Cat Box. I got in contact with Sara Maguire, the creator of the Smart Cat Box. Sara was so concerned about my sticky situation that she offered to send me a Smart Cat Box to try. Sara, is a genius because she designed the Smart Cat Box with a urine collection system (your pee goes into a container). Now my parents can use a Keto Diastix
The Tiniest Tiger Tuesday Tiger Imitaion!
Welcome Friends to The Tiniest Tiger Tuesday Tiger Imitation!
I thought about giving you a little time off after you were trying so hard to figure out Whoops! Wednesday. There were some pretty good guesses, but sadly, none of them were even close. Don’t worry though, you will see tomorrow when Whoops! Wednesday arrives.
In the mean time, try to concentrate and decide which is me, Gracey, The Tiniest Tiger and which is our big cat cousin living at Big Cat Rescue. Am I on the left? Or am I on the right? We both have a few stripes running down between our ears so that makes this imitation even more difficult. Take your time. I will be here napping…I meant thinking and working all day. Good Luck. Meow for Now.
The Tiniest Tiger Asks, “Are You Bee Friendly?”
Friends, I am so relieved when I survey my habitat surroundings and things are a little messy! When the yard, trees and shrubs are too tidy, I can’t help but worry.
I worry because there are many creatures that live in the shrubs, grass and trees and when things are manicured and groomed too much, our small Friends lose their habitats!
And it is not just the mowing and the trimming that I am talking about. I am worried about the use of pesticides to keep lawns greener than green! Is it really so bad for the grass to be dotted with dandelions and other interesting plants?
Did you know that more than fifty billion honeybees have died within the last year in the United States due to Colony Collapse Disorder?
Bees are social creatures but they are also very smart. When they become sick, they do not return to their colony so as not to infect the other bees. But when all the bees are sick and do not return the queen bee is left alone in the hive. She is then helpless and she too perishes.
But what is making our honeybees sick? I found the answers from our Friends at The Honeybee Conservancy.
A scientific study in 2005 showed that three-quarters of the 66 different pesticides found in one hive were toxic to bees. But even worse, the combination of the toxins increased the poison as much as by 1000 times. This same study found 121 different pesticides in 887 samples of bees, wax, pollen and hives. Scientists believe that pesticides are the reason for Colony Collapse Disorder.
The Honeybee Conservancy told me that our bees are harvesting pollen laced with lethal poison and feeding it to their young. Many of these systemic pesticides are from a family of highly toxic chemicals called neonicotinoids. Bees exposed to these chemicals exhibit symptoms similar to humans afflicted with Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s.
