Meet Annie From Grayson County Humane Society

Annie

Before Gracey’s illness progressed, we were looking over our facebook feed and saw this photo of Annie, a sweet little girl living at the Grayson County Humane Society.   I said, “Look Gracey, Annie has spunk, don’t you think?”  I showed Paul Annie’s photo when he came home from work.  We were wondering if Gracey might like to have another cat sharing her habitat. But a few days later, Gracey became ill and our world was tumbled around.

Paul and I have been picking up the pieces after losing Gracey. We are now able to smile when we think of our little girl and know that she lives on with us.  We looked around our home and thought, we have a home, there are so many cats that need homes. Maybe it is time to bring another family member into our home.  I reached out to Donna at Grayson County Humane Society to see if Annie was still available for adoption and  asked if Annie had bonded with any other cat at the shelter. Donna sent me this video.

As you can see from the video, Annie is spunky. And clearly Porter and Annie are buddies.  So Paul and I carefully thought about what we wanted to do and even asked each other what would Gracey want us to do.   What do you think we decided?  Here is a hint……

Congratulations on the new kitties! I was wondering, do you still have Gracey’s brother Mercy?

  2. Sue Schlauch says

These two little beauties will have such a wonderful home. I am so happy for all of you!

Heaven sent, don’t you think? And yes, they could be my Claude’s little brother and sister … he’s also white with gray tabby markings. Wendy is right – they have hit the kitty home jackpot!

  4. Porter is now Eddie, or is this another kitty? Either way, so happy for everybody! <3

    • Deb, we changed Porter’s name to Eddie. We named him after our dear friend Ed that was Hazel’s pet parent. We shared our home with Hazel when Ed became to ill to care for her was went to assisted living. Ed is how we found Gracey too. We thought Eddie was the perfect name for our little boy.

I saw Annie’s picture earlier and was struck by her beautiful Tabby & White markings.
I am betting/hoping you have adopted them both…and we will officially meet them soon.
