The Newest Innovation From Tidy Cats!

You might remember that we had an interesting adventure  visiting the Tidy Innovations Lab. While there, Annie was able to snap the photo below before we were spotted by the scientists.

The latest innovation at Tidy Cat’s Innovation Lab

Now that the cat is out of the bag, the new Tidy Cats product is revealed in this video from the Tidy Innovation Lab.

Tidy Cats® LightWeight with Glade® Tough Odor Solutions!

Tidy Cats Takes Freshness to a Lighter Level!

Tidy Cats LightWeight Info

The New Power Couple!

The new Tidy Cats LightWeight is 50% lighter and 100% Glade tough on odors.  We were very excited about the litter being 50% lighter because  when we see our parents lugging those jugs in from the retail jungle we feel sorry for them. Tidy Cats LightWeight enables them to load up on litter with ease!

Now that we are a three cat home, there is three times the love but also three times the litter box odor! We have to admit, we can really stink it up at times so knowing that Glade Tough Odor Solutions will be working to neutralize our output is even more good news!

This is a double victory for cat parents.

The Cats Create Their Own Tidy Innovation Lab Experiment

We were curious, since we are cats, if this new litter really is lighter so we set up an experiment.

Tidy Cats Experiment

We gathered the equipment we needed to run our experiment; a scale, a beaker,  Tidy Cats LightWeight, Dual Power, and noses to sniff.

We all sniffed the new Tidy Cats with Glade Tough Odor Solutions and agreed  the scent is not too strong but smells light and fresh like this:

We moved on to the next steps, weighing our litter options.

Annie measures Tidy Cats

Annie checks the scale with Tidy Cats LightWeight

We measured the Tidy Cats LightWeight litter first.  We poured the litter into the beaker on the scale and looked at the weight.

Annie measuring Tidy Cats

Annie checks the weight

The beaker with the Tidy Cats LightWeight  weighed in at 11.3 ounces.

Eddie checks the scale

Eddie checks the scale

Next we poured our dad’s favorite litter into the beaker, the Tidy Cats Dual Power.  Eddie sniffed out the weight of the litter and found it to be 1 lb. 3.3 ounces or 19.3 ounces.

Mercy observing our experiment hissed his disapproval at our methods.  He told us we forgot to clear the scale and that the weight of the beaker was not accounted for in the last step.

Mercy checks the scale

So,  we started over and measured the Dual Power, more careful in our steps. We didn’t want Mercy to get a fat tail and hiss at us.

Annie and Eddie check the scale

Annie and Eddie double check for accuracy

This time, making sure the measurement was accurate, the Dual Power weighed in at 1 lb. 6 ounces or 22 ounces.  Our findings show the Tidy Cats LightWeight is 50% lighter.  The Tidy Cats LightWeight weighed about 11.3 ounces and the Dual Power weighed approximately 22 ounces.

Mercy advised us to use the words “about” and “approximately” to show there is a margin of error when two kittens are measuring cat litter and to take into account the calibration of the scale we used.

Mercy approved this time and feels confident you can replicate this experiment in your own habitat and to help you do this, we have an exciting giveaway sponsored by Tidy Cats!

We wanted to let you know momma came home Tuesday to a big box on the front porch. Her had know idea what it was, so we opened it up and surprise! There was our full-sized Tidy Cats LightWeight with Glade Tough Odor Solutions clumping litter! She was so very excited. She took it out to the barn with her that afternoon and carried it up to *Rain’s loft* in the big barn. It was time to change her litter pan anyways, so she put it right to work! Rain seems to be pleased with her new litter and momma is so happy her did not have to haul the heavy traditional Tidy Cats up the 10′ ladder!! Thank you so much for this giveaway. xoxoxo Dancer and the SDR Clan

PS. Happy belated Birthday wishes to you, Joanne from all of us here at the Ranch 🙂

  3. http://Betty%20Curran says

I won’t replicate the experiment but I’m very interested in using the lighter weight litter.

  4. http://Lynne%20T. says

I won’t replicate the experiment, I’m most interested in the lighter weight since I have a lot of stairs to climb up to my apartment and carrying the regular weight isn’t easy.

  5. http://Joni%20Dolniak says

I won’t replicate the experiment. I would like to try them both.

  6. http://K%20Johnson says

I won’t replicate the experiment but I am excited to try the odor control Glade formula.

  7. http://Lisa%20Voyce says

I really don’t have time to do the experiment and I am most excited to try the odor control.

  8. http://Sonya%20Allstun says

No, I won’t replicate the experiment. I am most excited to try the Glade odor control.

  9. http://Joy%20Q says

I dont plan on replicating the experiment & I would like to try the Glade odor control because I have 2 cats.

  10. http://Peggy%20Rydzewski says

The lighter weight for sure. It is heavy to carry down the stairs.

  11. http://Jana%20Leah says

I don’t plan on replicating the experiment & would like to try both litters. Thanks.

  12. http://Nicole%20C. says

No, I won’t replicate the experiment. I am most excited to try the Glade odor control.

  13. http://sexybrat says

I won’t replicate the experiment. I would like to try the light weight litter.

  14. http://Laura%20Fugate says

I won’t replicate the experiment. I am eager to try the light weight litter.

  15. http://cynthiac says

I want to try the lighter weight because I struggle with heavy bags of litter.

  16. http://alycep says

The lighter weight would work for my multicat household as I have arthritis and have trouble lifting heavy items.

  17. http://iggysaysno says

Not sure I will replicate the experiment. I will enjoy the light weight most.

  18. http://Tracie%20Cooper says

I would love to try the Glade odor control. My cat Roo would be glad to replicate the experiment!

  19. http://Shadow%20Dance%20Ranch%20Kittehs says

We trust what Annie, Eddie and Mercy say so need to replicate the experiment. But it would be nice for momma to have less weight to have to carry. We *litter*-ally go through tons of litter here at the ranch MOL! We use both Tidy Cats Clay and clumping in the Glade scent, but never the lightweight because momma says it is too expensive. 20. http://sksweeps says

I don’t think my cat, nickname ‘Her Majesty’ would be bothered to recreate the experiment, it would be below her. But I would like to try the lightweight and odor control!

  21. http://Jennifer%20R says

I doubt I recreate the experiment but it was very interesting to read. I am super excited by the Tidy Cats LightWeight, Dual Power litter.

  22. I do wish my litter was lighter, but really it’s odor control that is the most important. I might try the experiment.

  23. http://Mary%20Jo%20Krause says

    It sounds awesome!!!

  24. http://katsrus says

I would try the experiment. I would try both. Thanks for the chance.

  25. http://Marie says

MaggieMae would be interested in either of these. I have seen about the lightweight litters and wonder about the dust and also tracking with them being lighter. Would love to try them as I have multiple physical problems and 50% lighter would make things a lot easier.

  26. http://Patchycat says

I’ve been skeptical of this lightweight litter trend. Does it absorb moisture & odor as well as traditional “heavy” litter. I’d be more interested in the odor control than the weight.

  27. http://biggie55 says

Id love to try the lightweight as i live on the 2nd floor and have carpal tunnel in both hands so its hard to carry the other litters. And the smell of glade is nice to.

  28. http://Susan%20Pertierra says

I’d be curious as to how Tidy Cats Lightweight compares to Fresh Step Lightweight (which I found to be dusty). I will take your word for it being 50% lighter!

  29. http://Allison%20Colony says

This looks interesting – I already use the Tidy Cats unscented light weight clumping litter, but think it would be worth trying this as well.

  30. http://Pookha says

Gabriel says he’d like to try both.

  31. http://Kim%20Henrichs says

My cats would be all over this experiment! 🙂 I’m really curious about the Glade! I LOVE that it’s lighter weight. With six cats I do a lot of weight lifting…

  32. http://Reana says

I have two wonderful rescue cats, and we are excited to test out both versions! Thank you for the information and contest!

  33. http://Chris%20D. says

I’ve tried Tidy Cats in the past but found it very dusty. I’d like to see if the lightweight version has less dust.

  34. http://Shelley%20P says

I won’t replicate the experiment in my home. I love that you showed it really is 50% lighter which is wonderful for scooping and carrying. I use Tidy Cats already but haven’t tried the lightweight and Glade tough odor solutions formula yet but I am excited about trying it.

  35. http://Linda%20Szymoniak says

I already use the Tidy Cat with Glade and LOVE it, but I haven’t tried their lightweight litter yet and have been wanting to try it.

  36. http://CynG says

I don’t need to replicate the experiment. I’ve already tried the new Tidy Cat Lightweight with Glade and I (and my cats) love it. My favorite thing about it is the light weight — really helps when scooping!

  37. http://Holly%20Thomas says

We use Tidy Cats but haven’t tried this formula, I am looking forward to the odor control.

  38. http://Sheree%20Harrell says

My 4 cats would love to try the same experiment that you all did. I am continually looking for a better litter, and 50% lighter sounds very good! Plus Glade smells?? I can’t wait to try it! Right now we aren’t a Tidy Cats family, but if it’s better than we we currently use and the cats like it, then I have no problems with switching to Tidy Cats.

  39. http://Sheila%20K. says

I’d like to try the Glade odor control litter!

  40. http://Theresa%20Spaid says

I have used both and found out I like the glade control litter the best. If I only had 1 cat I would like the lightweight but with 2 the glade one

  41. http://Dana%20Rodriguez says

Both sound great! This would make my morning routinr so much easier!

  42. I will replicate the cats’ experiment in my home and love to try both formulas. The glade control would really be useful for tough odors and the lighter weight would be better on my poor back. Thanks for the chance! We love Tidy Cats!!

  43. http://jules%20mcnubbin says

i would love to try the glade because mr buttons is stinkin up the place. 😛

  44. http://Mary%20W says

Three rescued cats live in my house. We use regular Tidy Cat but have not tried Tidy Cat with Glade for tough odor control. The cats would like to try the new Tidy Cat litter to see if it really does help with smells.
