Drinkwell Original Fountain Review and Giveaway

Giveaways· Fountains & Dishes· Water!

6 Oct

House cats benefit by drinking more water, and even more so if they are eating a dry kibble diet. All cats need water and even though you might hear people say  their cat never drinks water, we know this is not true and all cats need water.  Even wild big cats intake water when eating their prey but they also seek out watering holes.  You can help out your cats by setting up a watering hole for them in your own habitat.

Gracey loved her Drinkwell Fountain

Gracey loved her Drinkwell  fountain and she made sure we kept it sparkling clean at all times so when 1-800-Pet-Meds sent us a brand new Drinkwell Original Fountain to review, we wanted to share by giving this terrific fountain away to one of our friends of The Tiniest Tiger.

Drinkwell Original Pet Fountain provides aerated, filtered water for your cat. The patented free-falling stream of water encourages your cat to drink more water, keeping them hydrated and improving their health.  The Original Pet Fountain filters the water with charcoal, which removes bad odors – leading to pure, clean water.

Benefits for you and your catDrinkwell Fountain image

  • Patented free-falling watering system aerates water
  • Appealing to cats and helps increase water consumption
  • Charcoal filter removes bad odors and pre-filter blocks large particles
  • Motorized pump and adjustable flow rate
  • 50 oz. (6 cup) capacity
  • Dishwasher safe (excluding pump)

How the Drinkwell Fountain works

The patented free-falling watering system aerates your cat’s water with oxygen and helps to prevent bacteria growth. The appeal of running water will help to ensure your cat drinks more water to stay properly hydrated. The charcoal filter removes bad odors, particles and debris, providing your cat with clean, good tasting water. Replacement filters and a cleaning kit can be purchased separately to extend the life of the fountain and clean hard-to-reach spots.

With 5 cats their water bowl seems to get dirty quickly. This would give them clean water longer.

My cats love water and crowd around the water dishes I have or any running water. A fountain would give more choices and the benefit of fresh water!

I am hoping my cat will like this then I wont have to leave the sink on

both my cats are very fussy about the water they drink, and I constantly find myself changing it. This way, using the fountain, I can guarantee that they will have fresh filtered water that tastes great to them.

This would help stop the spread of diseases that our cats can get.

I had to take 4 cats to the doctor 2 who definately have a Urinary Tract Infection, 2 that

appeared to but might have some related problem. Everyone is on bottled water and they
love the Big Max fountain we bought from a doggie fund raiser, this would be a second
fountain to keep on their big patio, if we can keep the house.

Having a fountain might buy me a little extra cuddle time with the gang, as I would no longer have to sit at the sink holding my hand under the water for them to lick, lol.

One of our boys, Moshi, absolutely loves running water, so the fountain would be a much better option for him than running water down the sink.

Our cat Baggie would love this! He is fascinated by water, loves to stick his paws in it, loves to watch it run down the window or go down the drain. He would just love to drink from a fountain and it would be better for him too!

Miss Kimba needs a new fountain. Had a PetMate Fresh Flow fountain, but had all kinds of trouble with the filter, so for the last few years she’s been bowling for her water. I would really like her water to be healthier, fresher, and less full of her fur.

MaggieMae would love this because right now her favorite spot to drink from is the bathroom faucet. I think the running water from the fountain would entice her to drink more water from the fountain rather than just the tap.

I have two cats that prefer drinking from the faucets and I do so worry about the lime that they ingest causing stones. I love my two babies and want the best for them

I was just diagnosed with FLUTD….and my Mommy and her vet said we need to put more water in our diet. So this comes at the BEST TIME. Mommy, please win!

My kitty Mina would benefit from this greatly, as she loves to drink from the bathroom’s sink throughout the day. Morning and night I have to open and close the faucet for her so this water fountain would be a godsend and my water bill will thank me too 😉

Er….oops. i somehow posted a blank comment with my entry, and it won’t let me modify it! What I was going to say is, my guys have loved their current fountain, but it’s about done for, and the Drinkwell one is much nicer anyway!

My kitties would love a new fountain. The top of theirs is broken so water only comes out of 1 spout! Having 11 kitties, 1 spout is just not enough! They love their fountain by Drinkwell! So easy to clean and fresh running water! Thank you for the opportunity to win one! <3

  28. Julie says

My kitties love having a water fountain. The bowl they have now needs to be replaced badly and it would be awesome if they could have a new one! (I don’t think they could go back to a regular bowl. They look terribly sad when we take it away to clean it! Lol)

  29. Trish Santaromana says

My 3 cats would love this… one is ALWAYS in the sink, another is always playing in the water dish, and the other just loves to drink water… all 3 of them have claimed my floating candle bowl as their water dish – so it must be left out all year long (thankfully I’ve found enough candles to change it out)… because it’s ALL about the cats 🙂

My kitty would definitely benefit from having a water fountain because he is drinking more and more water due to the start of kidney disease. With this, I’d know he would have the freshest water possible due to it not being stagnant. Thanks for the giveaway!

My 2 cats would benefit from having another 1 (we already have 1 that we adore) b/c I can replace the 2nd floor water bowl with a drinkwell and then they don’t have to share 🙂 thank you!

I think my cat would benefit from the Drinkwell Fountain because it would make them want to drink more as they love the sink water. Thank you for the giveaway. Love the video especially when we get a close up.

I think my cat would benefit from the Drinkwell Fountain because it makes drinking so much more fun. I read somewhere that cats don’t drink until they are 75% dehydrated. Not sure if that’s true or not, but I want my cats to love drinking water and this fountain will definitely inspire them to do so. Thank you for another exciting giveaway!

I think my Reese’s and my Sissy (dog) would love to try a drinkwell fountain because they drink so much water. My water is not the best and I’d love to be able to give them filtered water. Currently, I purchase RO (reverse osmosis) water for them to drink.

  39. Milene Mittelhauser says

    October 6, 2013 at 2:59 pm

I would love to give one of these a whirl. We would all love for our cats to drink more water and I would like for Paisley to stop licking out the bathtub after I shower.

  40. Lisa Acord says

    October 6, 2013 at 2:56 pm

Of all the things you offer in giveaways, this is what I’d REALLY love to win! We have a Drinkwell and love it, but with 6 cats, another would be amazing! It would make it so much easier to keep water clean and available at the second feeding area.
