Petsafe Current Pet Fountain

Helping Your Cat Drink More Water

We know you do your best to encourage your cat to drink more water.  Keeping your cat properly hydrated helps prevent urinary and kidney diseases and also speeds up recovery for sick and injured pets.  You might have your eye on a pet water fountain but aren’t sure your cat will like it or drink from it and some of the fountains can be a little bit pricey.

The NEW PetSafe Current Pet Fountain

PetSafe Current Pet Fountain

PetSafe understood your concerns and created the new  Current Pet Fountain. The fountain uses an activated carbon filter that removes bad tastes and odors from tap water, encouraging cats to drink more of the fresh water.  Heather Owens, Category Manager – Water and Feed Solutions for PetSafe brand thinks the new Current Pet Fountain is a great starter fountain for cat owners.

“Some pets that are used to drinking out of a bowl may be hesitant to approach fountains with free-falling water,” Owens said. “Since the Current Pet Fountain more closely resembles a plastic water bowl, its’ a great way for you to provide your pet with a constant source of fresh, filtered water, whether you’re home or away.”

The PetSafe Current Pet Fountain’s BPA-free plastic design comes apart for easy cleaning and is dishwasher safe.  This fountain comes in a trendy Orchid color sure to brighten up any room.  It also features handgrips on the side of the bowl for easy carrying and placement, as well as a snap-on lid to prevent accidental removal by curious pets.

The new fountain comes in three sizes: 40 oz, 80 oz, and 120 oz water capacity and are priced at $19.99-$39.99 depending on size and is available for purchase on petsafe.com

  32. AnnaZed says

    September 22, 2015 at 2:23 pm

It sounds a bit crazy, and I’m not sure if it will work, but what I would like to do is put this water station up on a low table that is by the window where my cat Leonardo hangs out. He has a bed on this table and often eats food there. the thing is that the other fountain is on the floor and the dog uses it. The cat really doesn’t like feeling vulnerable around the dog so sometimes he just won’t drink there. He is also one of those cats that simply can not comprehend still water in a bowl. He puts his paws in, he tips it over but he doesn’t drink it.

  41. Linda Szymoniak says

    September 20, 2015 at 9:43 pm

If I win this I’d put it in my kitchen where my cats could get it – but not my dogs. I keep multiple bowls of water for my furbabies, but my cats and dogs usually share the same bowls. Unfortunately, dogs tend to slobber when they drink, so it would be nice if the cats had their own, fresh water supply.

  43. naturegirly says

I would love to have one of these for my Baby. She came to me in early 2002 and quickly become the little princess of the house. Now as she has gotten older she prefers to NOT be with other cats so I let her have the basement as her own. But I do worry that being inactive as she is now she might not eat or drink very well. This would be perfect for her. A small not too needy fountain that might encourage her to drink more and move around more often. She’s still playful and much happier downstairs but she will always be my Baby and I miss having her upstairs in my lap for hours on end. Just want her to be happy. I’ll post with this a picture of Baby watching a special on cats on the TV. She spent over 30 minutes watching before she realized the cats were not going to run out the back of the television. 😉

  44. Shadow Dance Ranch Kittehs says

    September 20, 2015 at 1:43 pm

Momma would probably put it on the kitchen counter. We have water bowls all around, but none of them have outlets near them except the 2 in the kitchen. xoxoxo Dancer and the SDR Clan

  45. Amy says

    September 20, 2015 at 12:14 pm

I’ll put it in the master bedroom so my cats will have a drinking option up there. When they’re downstairs, they prefer to drink out of the dogs’ water dish.

  46. Daniel Scott says

The kitchen is where the feeder is for my crew, and I’d also place the fountain there, because it is directly below a plug in. The current water bowl would be placed somewhere throughout the house along with the other two.

  56. wetnosegang says

    September 19, 2015 at 12:23 pm

I would put it in the kitchen. I made my cats their own dining table that I put next to the people dining table. So, I would put the fountain there. Thanks!

I’d find a way to put it in the bathroom, which is where they get their water — from two bowls and a cup beside the sink. It’s easy to keep them filled and fresh there, and easy for the kitties to get to.

    September 19, 2015 at 11:04 am
