The PetSafe ScoopFree® Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box
The ScoopFree®Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box is an innovative, automatic litter box that stays fresh and clean without the hassle. Instead of scooping every day, the litter box does all the work for you! Once the cat uses the litter box, lightly scented crystals absorb waste moisture and trap odor, while the automatic rake sweeps through the box and pushes the waste out of sight. Clean-up is as easy as placing the lid on the disposable tray and throwing it away. The privacy hood gives you the option to provide your cat a secluded bathroom and reduces litter tracking, while the health counter tracks how many times your cat uses the box.
Features:
- Self-cleans for weeks with no scooping, cleaning, or refilling
- Crystal litter absorbs urine and dehydrates waste, making it 5x more effective at reducing odors than clay or clumping litter
- Covered trap locks away solid waste and odor so you never touch or see smelly waste
- Completely disposable leak-proof tray with lid for quick, hygienic cleanup
- Health counter to track cat’s usage
- Adjustable timer for automatic rake with 3 different timing options
- Privacy hood reduces litter tracking and odor
- Health counter tracks how many times your cat uses the box
- Lab tested for 100,000+ cycles without failure or jamming
- For cats of any size
- For indoor use only

We’ve never tried an automatic one before, I think it’s a great idea!
I have never used a self cleaning litter box.
We have never tried an automatic litter box. I guess we’ve been a bit skeptical of them.
Daniel is driving me crazy with his litter box habit…..(his aiming ability) and I have tried every size, shape and configuration of regular boxes only to be about to throw my hands up and scream!
Perhaps this would solve Daniel’s problem and let me keep my sanity or what’s left of it!!!
we haven’t tried one yet
I have tried one in the past. It was not very sturdy.
i haven’t ever used an automatic litter box, but it looks cool
I have not tried one.
I have not used automatic litter boxes yet. I have 4 litter boxes for all my cats.
I used to work at Pet Safe and i can vouch for the quality of the pet products they make. That being said, I would love to win this self cleaning litter box for our two fur girls Lola and Ashlyn.
I really want to try a self-cleaning litter box but can’t afford one. Hope I win.
I’ve never used a self-cleaning litterbox simply because being a disabled person, I do not have the means to purchase one. So…… I really hope I win one!
It would be awesome to give this a try!!
I would love to try an automated litter box…I have a little girl (kitty) that has breathing problems and can’t have a dirty box. She and her sister make a mess with the potty box we have now and I am always scooping.
I have not tried an automatic litter box for my cats, but I would love to.
My grandkids just got their first cat a few months ago. They are currently using a regular litter box. I’d like to win this so that they could try an automatic one.

I have not tried one.
I have tried one before, and although it worked fairly well, it really didn’t last very long.
My cats Gracie and Stash sure would love this!! (I would too!!) Love all my kitties 🙂 I’ve never used an automatic cat litter box, always the standby “manual” one for me!
I really like this model, together with the Forever Trays instead of the expensive one-use disposable ones
I used an automatic litter box when I had my Synamon, but his over-sugared sticky pee broke it. I still have it, but the motor is burned out. I would like to replace it.
I have used the Litter Maid box, but I was not impressed. I would love to have one that actually worked.
never tried one before, but would love to!
Never used a automatic litter box but interested to see how my furry buddy responds.
I have never used one but would love to have one.
This would be great for my 3 cat home!
I’ve never used an automatic litter box. However, my grandmother lost her husband of 70 years in September of 2015 and she adopted a young cat from a local shelter in her city. She’s never had a cat but always wanted one, so she really is new to caring for a cat. She really needs an automatic litter box to keep it easy for her (she’s 90 and the less work the better, and less smell in her small home is better too). Also, I love this website! It gives so much information that my grandmother needs as a new kitty mom.
I’ve never used an automatic litter box but we are going to be moving – with 7 cats, this might be the time to try one! (7 rescued cats by the way 🙂
No I have never tried one but would be interested to.

I have not tried an automatic litter box due to price and the uncertainty the girls would like and us it.
My cats were spooked by the last automatic litter box I tried. This one looks more traditional and less likely to confuse them.
We used to have a couple of the automatic kitty litter boxes years ago. Love the looks of this one. Especially the purple hood! 🙂
I have never used one, but it would be helpful for our 5 boys
I’ve never owned an automatic litter box, but I did cat sit for someone several years back that had one .
I used a automatic litter box but it kept getting stuck and scared my cat. I would love to try this one as I am disabled and it is getting so hard to get down to sccoop the litter box every time she goes.
I’ve looked at automatic litter boxes but I’ve been worried my big male is too heavy
I’ve used an automatic litter box for around 13 years now with two cats. We all think they are fantastic!
I tried LitterMaid when they first came out, it wasn’t all that great. I haven’t had the money to try any of the new automatic litter boxes. With a clowder of seven, some of those special needs, it sure would help!
I have never used an automatic self-cleaning litter box.
No, I haven’t ever tried an automatic litter box, mainly due to cost. However, it’d be nice to have some help with the litter boxes since I have a multiple household.
No, I haven’t. It’s always been human fueled. Always had cats, though.
I have never tried an automatic cat box, but with having several cats would really like to, The price stops me because what if the cats dont like it

I’ve never used an automatic litter box.
I have never tried an automatic litter box before, but would very much like to. I feel it would help me and my cat as I am now disabled, and it’s getting hard for me to reach low enough to tend his litter box.
We tried them when they first came out 10-15 years ago and it did not work that well..hopefully they are better now.
I’ve never used an automatic litter box but would love to give it a try. We adopted 2 kittens from the shelter a couple of months ago so it would come in handy!

I have never tried an automatic box for my cats. But if I won one I would give it to my mom to try. She’s 79, recovering from cancer and has an arthritic knee. So, this might help. Maybe, maybe not. Her cats are pretty vigorous diggers.
Ive never tried an automatic litter box but i think i need this in my life right now. With my messy Mugi, territorial Romy and the 3 kittens we rescued we are having some litter box issues. I started looking for a good litter box but I just dont understand why a decent size plastic box cost so much…
I have never used an automatic litter box but I think it sounds like a good idea.
I have not tried an automatic litter box.
We haven’t tried an automatic litterbox but it sounds like a great idea!
I had one,but it got stuck on waste in the box fairly easily. I’d love to try it again, though!
I used an automatic litter box about 10 years ago, but it turned into more of a hassle than it was worth. However I’m willing to try again if I win too see if its been improved upon. 🙂
I’ve never tried one but it seems easy.
I have not tried one as I have several cats and do rescue work so there are often “guests” in the house. I was concerned about the noise as I have some ferals but now that I have a more stable group I would love to try it and make my life easier!
Happily, the ScoopFree® Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes are whisper quiet! You can also set the rake to scoop 5, 10 or 20 minutes after the litter box has been used.
Thank you, would love to try it!
I’ve had them and they are really easy to take care of
Love this litter box so easy and simple.
We haven’t tried an automatic litter box yet.
I have not tried one but was looking at them online the other day. The littermaid brand got terrible reviews and were out of my budget.I have always had out door cats but since a neighbor complained I now have to keep my cats inside since my County has a leash law. My dog also thinks the litter box is hers to get into, yuck!
We have not tried this kind of litter box. It looks awesome.
I used to use a LitterMaid, but the newer models didn’t work well for our large cats. Hoping to try this one!
No, I had no idea one existed. This is great!
No, haven’t tried one. Love that this one comes in purple!
I have not used an automatic litter pan before, but have been thinking about trying one for about a year.
I have never used a self-cleaning litter box.
While I haven’t tried an self-cleaning litter box yet, I have really been wanting to. I have four dogs and three cats (all rescues).. Unfortunately, one of my dogs feels the litter box is her personal buffet. I scoop our litter boxes a couple of times a day and watch for any use between, but it never fails. One or more of our cats will use the box right after I clean it, and my dog gets into it. I’d love to try a self-cleaning litter box.
My cats have never tried this type of litter box, it would be interesting to see how it worked out.
I’ve never tried an automatic litter box for two reasons. One is the price of them, I just haven’t gotten to the point where I’ll bite the bullet and spend the money. Two, of the ones I’ve looked at and reviews on blog post I’ve read there hasn’t been a positive enough review that has gotten me to spend the money on one – there seems to always be a catch or down side in cleaning or maintaining that makes it less worth it to buy one.
We had one of those – actually it’s still around somewhere – but my human thought the crystals were too rock-like. Sparkle wouldn’t use it, and it was clear she didn’t like the way the crystals felt on her paws. We do use a crystal litter in one of our boxes, but it is more sandy in texture. I wonder if it would work in this litter box.
No I haven’t tried one yet. I hope Musu and Sneaky Pie don’t get scared of it. I really would like to find out.
Sorry, not going to enter this one, as the refills are $10.00 – $15.00 each, depending where you shop.
Hi Marilyn, you might be interested to know that because of the way the litter works, a single tray can last for 1 cat up to 30 days! Because the trays are long-lasting for most cats, many people find the cost of the trays to be equal to-or in some cases be less than- what they’ve been spending on traditional litter.
Personally, I haven’t tried an automatic litter box (too expensive), but I have friends who have and they seem to be very happy with the results. I know that if I won one, it would be a big help with my crew.
Have never tried a self cleaning litterbox but have always wanted to. With fosters & our own furbabies it would be very helpful.
No, we have never tried an automatic litter box.
I have never tired one of these before. My Mini would love to try one as before we could not afford one.
I haven’t tried one with my kitty yet. I would really like to win this for my aunt, who is considering adopting a rescue kitty. This would help her as she brings her new kitty home.
I tried one long ago before they were really perfected. I would love to try one again!
I have never tried an automatic litter box, as I was afraid my cats would be afraid of it.
I have never tried an automatic cat box but I would love too. I don’t know how it would work with 11 cats though.
I have never tried automatic litter boxes before but I would love to own one.
Oh my, with 4 cats who leave quite a bit of litter tracked everywhere, I would love to win this!
I have never tried an automatic litter box. I foster cats for a local rescue so there are usually 3 to 5 cats in my home. I didn’t know if an automatic box would handle that amount of waste.
When the automatic litter boxes first came out I bought 3 of them. Having 8 cats at the time I thought it would be ideal. It was anything but. The premium litter at the time did not clump hard enough and it gummed up the rakes and jammed it. The rakes were difficult to clean and after several weeks disposed of them all. Using a manual scoop was far easier that having to disassemble and clean the automatic litter box every few uses. What an expensive waste that was. I now use the the “world’s greatest litter” which lives up to its name. Is the best we have used thus far. Don’t think I would risk the expense of trying another automatic at this time with 5 cats using the litter boxes.
You might be interested to know the ScoopFree® Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes have stood the test of time! The ScoopFree® units have been on the market for several years and thousands of cats (and their humans) love the ease and convenience they provide. Because the crystal litter absorbs moisture from both liquid and solid waste, the volume of waste is greatly reduced over standard litter boxes. This makes ScoopFree® Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes ideal for many homes that have several cats!
I have never used an automatic litterbox but could definitely use one. I’ve been rescuing stray cats for the past 5 yrs on a very limited budget and have never asked for help from anyone. Currently have tamed 5 feral cats who are now living indoors. Have plans to tame & bring more inside as soon as I can. Thanks for the opportunity!
Would love to try this!! Sounds like an awesome product!!
I have never tried automated litterboxes…the noise in motorized water scared my kitty and I’m not sure how she would react to one but I’d love to try it out!
I’ve used the Littermaid boxes in the past and they weren’t exactly perfect or clean. This one sound star more intriguing that it absorbs, instead of scoops, the liquid waste which is far more common than solid so it sounds as though waste itself is reduced. Want to try!
No I have never tried one but I would love to.Be a nice break from my morning cleanings.
I have never tried one. One of our two kitties is kind of a scaredy cat so I’m not sure how it would go over. But I’d sure love to try!
Yes, I have used several different automated litter boxes. Different cats and situations call for different types. But they are all so much better than scooping!
I have used an automatic litter box. I didn’t think the cats would use it, but they did. They especially liked smacking it when it moved 🙂
I have never tried an automatic litter box for my cat but I would really like to.
