Cats Enjoying a Hot Summer Day

Eddie enjoying summer

Eddie enjoying a summer day

A few days ago I saw Eddie sitting on top of the cat power tower enjoying a hot summer day.  Eddie often sits quietly observing the backyard.  There is a lot of activity to keep his interest.  The birds,  and the squirrels  keep him plenty busy.  This day, I saw his reflection in the glass and I could see that he was focusing his attention high up on the Maple tree.  When I looked closer, I could see Bossy Backyard Blue Jay tilting his head and looking back at Eddie.  This made me smile.

Annie, Eddie and Mercy all love spending time in the sunroom. We have arranged the room so that each cat can observe the backyard at the same time but still have their own space.  We have yet to see Eddie and Mercy sitting side by side but they are often in the sunroom together.

But, it usually isn’t too long before Annie  joins Eddie on the cat power tower, whether Eddie is ready or not.

This day, Eddie seemed a little perturbed when Annie jumped up on the tower with him. Just like all of us, cats just want a little alone time.  Eddie always looks like he is ready to say something, doesn’t he?  I think he was getting ready to ask me to take Annie into the office with me.

I said, “Now Eddie, there is plenty of room for both of you.”  And I think he understood me.

When I checked in on the cats a little while later Annie and Eddie were sharing the top platform of the cat power tower looking happy as could be.

And this made me happy too.  Sometimes it’s the little things we see that warm our hearts and help us get through the days. Seeing Annie and Eddie enjoying a hot summer day together is one of those things for me.

Thank you for stopping by to visit and for being a part of The Tiniest Tiger community.
