Happy World Smile Day!
World Smile Day was coined and started by Harvey Ball, an artist from Worcester, Massachusetts, who created the Smiley Face in 1963. Yes, this Smiley Face.
The World’s first World Smile Day was held in the year 1999 and has been held annually since. “The smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion,” the holiday’s organizers wrote on their “about” page on Facebook. “Harvey’s idea was that for at least one day each year, neither should we.”
Do Cats Smile?
Today on World Smile Day, I couldn’t help but wonder if you think cats smile too? No, we don’t have actual proof that cats smile the same way that we humans smile, but just today, lets forget all that and just have fun and allow ourselves to think that our cats smile. In the photo at the top of this page, Annie sure looks like she is smiling to me. What do you think?

Mercy and the Office Owl
I love this photo of Mercy. Look at his sweet face. It is hard to tell in this photo that he is smiling but I think his eyes give him away. The Office Owl is more stoic. Hard to tell if he is smiling. 😉

Those photos are DARLING! I used to ALWAYS say that my Angel Bobo “smiled” when he was sleeping. Cody, because of his unusual mouth, was the original “Grumpy Cat” (albeit a poor one lol), before the “other” Grumpy Cat existed. But….the one with the BEST most WONDERFUL smile EVER???
