GinkGo Tree is My Favorite Tree
As many of you know, I am a bit of a scaredy cat. When the weather starts to turn cold and October appears on the calendar, one of the spookiest times of year begins. And I don’t mean Halloween. I mean when the leaves from the trees begin to fall and dance across our yard.
When the big maple trees lose their leaves, the giant leaves turn brown and make scritchy scratchy noises as they skate across the driveway. I try to get ready as best I can, but when I am in deep thought and the giant leaves knock on my screen door, it makes my fur stand up and my heart beat faster.
On the other paw, as October fades away, and November begins, my favorite tree, the front yard Ginkgo, begins to show its color. This tree is calm and nice. The leaves turn a beautiful golden color and when it is time for the leaves to depart they dance lightly like raindrops down to the ground making a golden pool on top of the grass.
When the Ginkgo leaves dance, they don’t go scritchy scratchy across the drive, they drift by like a whisper bidding us farewell.
My mom is especially fond of the Ginkgo tree too. My grandpa planted and loved this tree. My grandpa loved dogs too, especially his dachshunds. But he said I was alright for a cat. hahahaha. I think he really loved me too.
Bad Kitty and I decided that the best way for us to help you understand the difference between the giant maple leaves and the smaller fan shaped Ginkgo leaves was to make a short film. We hope that you enjoy our video.

Love this. It’s beautifully haunting. Really need to know the name of the piece by Flutasia. Do you know the title? I want to use it in a novel that I’m writing…

Big Bad Baby Twinkle sez: “Meowmie has 3 Gingko Trees growing on my (Cat-safe, totally fenced-in) Balkony. She grew them from seed. Gingko seeds are inside liddle orange wrinkled froots. Da froots stink.

Earl and I got so involved in your video that I over poured my tea! Fortunately, the cream fell and I licked it up. What a pretty video.

Thank you Michele! I am sorry you over poured your tea. My parents think the transitions are a bit too choppy but to my cat’s eye, and well, we cats have better reflexes and reaction times, it is just fine. I like to look here and there quickly so as not to miss anything.
