Roger and Rafa’s Story
Our cat, Matisse, went to the Rainbow Bridge in August 2010 and we were devastated. Adam wanted to cancel his annual trip to the U.S. Open the following week, but I insisted that he go because he volunteers at Arthur Ashe Kids Day every year and the kids were counting on him. He agreed to go, but said that as soon as he returned home we would go to the Humane Society of Broward County to adopt two cats.
However, I had other plans. As soon as I dropped him off at the airport, I went straight to the Humane Society, met Roger and Rafa (whose names were Frisky and Moo-Moo at the time) and brought them home with me.
Five days later, Adam had two furry little surprises when he returned home. In honor of the U.S. Open, I named them after our favorite tennis champions, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
