Every Day We Give Thanks for Our Cats!
Every single day we look at Annie, Eddie and Mercy our hearts swell with love and gratitude that we are fortunate enough to share our lives with them. No matter how hectic, on good days and not-so-good days, when we see those little tails up and curled, we pause and realize how much joy the cats bring into our lives.
Sometimes I am sitting at the computer for long periods of time when Annie comes in to get me. She puts both paws up on my leg, blinks those green eyes, and tilts her head to the side. How can I resist her, in fact she is doing this right now as I write. If I don’t stop to pet her, she jumps up into my lap and places her front legs around my neck and gives me a big hug. How did we get so lucky to adopt such a sweet little cat?
Eddie loves to play. He plays all day long with toys he has strategically placed around the house. When I see our little boy busy playing, it brings a smile to my face and again I am reminded how thankful we are to have adopted him.
This week, in honor of Thanksgiving, our friends at CatLadyBox sent Turkey and Pumpkin Pie Toys for our cats to enjoy. Eddie immediately took possession of the Pumpkin Pie, but as you can see, he thinks he might like the Turkey too.
Annie showing some interest in the Turkey was quickly batted away. Eddie then grabbed hold of her tail just to make sure she didn’t make any sudden moves to poach his toys.
Declaring himself the winner, Eddie begins to play with the Turkey keeping guard of the Pie. But his reign over the toys didn’t last too long before Mercy decided to see what was causing such a fuss.
After a few sniffs, Mercy was distracted by two of the neighbors’ cats prowling in our back yard. Mercy can’t be distracted with toys when his kingdom is at risk of invasion. Our alley cat rescue Mercy. We still see that little kitten battling for food on the rock where we fed the colony. We are thankful we were able to catch Mercy and bring him into our lives.
Annie seizes upon the opportunity to swoop in and snag the Turkey as soon as Mercy walks on and before Eddie pounces.
Eddie decides that the Pumpkin Pie is pretty darn good and lets Annie have the Turkey. Eddie and I are in agreement. I will trade anyone my turkey for more of the Pumpkin Pie. We wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for being a part of The Tiniest Tiger community and for sharing our love for cats, turkey and pumpkin pie.
