Cats Love the Katris Cat Tower. Katris Block Giveaway

Giveaways· Cat Towers

26 Oct
Annie peeking over Katris box

Annie planning the Katris configuration.

When Jeff from Papercut Lab asked if I thought Annie, Eddie and Mercy might be interested in trying out their product Katris.  I answered back almost immediately with an enthusiastic yes!  Papercut Lab sent us five Katris blocks for us to review.  Our cats love to climb and to scratch and I love that the Katris looks good and can be assembled in a variety of configurations to keep the novelty factor for the cats.

When the Katris pieces were being assembled in the sun room, Annie was ready to help.  She is by far the most curious of our three cats and the first to try anything new.  While Paul and I were making room for the Katris in the sun room, Annie was reviewing the design your own cat tree images on the pretty blue paper sleeve that protects the Katris pieces during shipping.

Katris waiting to be assembled

Katris shapes waiting to be assembled.

The Katris is Modular

Every shape is well designed for easy assembling. When you want to change the shape of the Katris, it is super easy to do.  SImply remove the Katris clips and reconfigure.  The clips are provided to secure your shapes into place. The instructions on the Katris sleeve suggest placing the Shapes in an area your cat is familiar with.  That for us, is definitely the sun room.

Pull to Open

Once we had all the pieces in the sun room we were ready to remove the  plastic wrap and blue paper sleeve.  Papercut Labs made this easy to do with  “Pull to open” tabs with a paw print image.  Pulling these tabs loosens up the sleeve enough to allow the Katris shape to be easily released.  The packaging has all the information you will need and it presented in an eye-pleasing way.  You might be thinking, what does that mean so I will show you.

Katris see details

See what I mean?  Pleasant to look at and the graphics made me smile.  Next step was to make sure we place the shapes so that there would be a steady foundation. Then we secured the Katris blocks with the provided clips.  The instructions say that your cat might need some time to get used to Katris and suggest you apply some of the  catnip provided with each shape.

Annie is first to climb and scratch while Eddie observes.

Katris is Non-toxic

No surprise that Annie was the first to climb the Katris and give it a good scratch. Eddie carefully observes Annie just to make sure it is safe for him to climb aboard.  Eddie doesn’t need to worry because  Katris is safe for the cats.  Papercut Lab uses SGS certified non-toxic glue on all assembling processes, and the shapes are original and organic in color. No inks are used. Even the provided  catnip is 100% organic.

Eddie tells Annie a secret

Eddie tells Annie that he likes the Katris

Katris is Eco-Friendly

It didn’t take Eddie long to join Annie on top the Katris cat complex.  I like that the blocks are so durable. Each piece is handcrafted to ensure precision and the use of top grade B flute material makes the pieces stronger.  Every block is assembled from 204 sheets of paper.  You might be thinking that is a lot of paper but Katris is eco-friendly, made from 100% recyclable materials with 90% post consumers recycled content for the paper used.  And the paper is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified from responsible sources.

Eddie takes the center Square

Eddie is giving the square shaped block a good scratch while Annie gives the far right block a workout.

Mercy Annie Katris

Mercy comes by to see what all the fuss is about.

Mercy decides he better see what is so exciting in the sun room that has the other two scratching.

Annie claims the lower left as her hideout.

Hmmmm…. Choices, choices. I guess I’ll pick the “O” shape, since I’m not sure my chubby Koneko would be able to fit into the other shapes. Our other two cats wouldn’t have any problems with the other shapes, so if they like the first one (if we win) I’ll have to start saving up for more.
