Friends, I have had a busy day getting ready for Monday.
October 4, is one of my favorite days.
It is the day we honor St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
This year, I thought about how I would honor my hero St. Francis and I decided that I would become a Library Lion.
I asked my mom to order a few of my favorite books about our big cat cousins, so that I could donate them to St. Rose School’s library. Our school is small but mighty like me. I want the children to learn a little more about all cats, both big and small.
The librarian told me she has a special place already waiting for the cat books. Isn’t that super exciting? And she even asked for my photo reading to inspire the children. She thinks if the children see me reading, that they will want to read more too.
Here I am looking over my book selections for the school.
And here is my photo that will be framed and hung in the library.
Here is a photo of the St. Rose School Library
And hear is a photo of the school librarian and students with the wildlife books donated in honor of St. Francis of Assisi.
I am honored to be a Library Lion! Can you hear me roar?
Oh hooray for you! What a big heart for a Tiniest Tiger! And we loooove books at the Museum!
Congratulations on the new post Gracey! i’m sure you will inspire many new readers!! Fantastic idea about donating the books (on a wonderful subject too!) & GREAT idea of the librarian to get a photo of you! i think they should hang the library lions pic at the top too! Maybe one day you could visit while they have a story time reading to the kids!
I have worked in a public library for the past eight years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a cute little Library Lion! Keep up the good work, Gracey!! (You are such a good kitty!!)
Gracey, you make a great library lion! I’m sure your books and picture will inspire children to love cats of all sizes. Love you!!!
Great idea, Gracey! I’m a Library Lion Cub, as I’ve only been a librarian for three years. I wonder if a picture of you would convince my patrons (doctors and nurses) to read more? Hee hee!
Hi Gracey It’s wonderful of you and your Mom to donate these great books to the library. I work in a library and we’re doing a display of animal books for World Animal Day – October 4th and have World Animal Day bookmarks for the children. You make an awesome library lion!
How nice to have World Animal Day bookmarks. You are a great Advo-cat Dee!
Gracey how nice of you to donate books about kitties to your library! And Iove the picture of you looking over the books your going to donate! Your so kind like Barry is – Did you know he’s donating 5 semi-trucks full of musical insturments to the Clark County School District in Las Vegas? Purr it up for Mr Manilow and his generous gift to these students! <3
Wow! Barry is a super hero! ~Purring it up for Mr. Manilow!~
Gracey, I love the picture of you reading your book! What a very smart cat you are. I hope to honor St. Francis on his special day as well. You are a wonderful Library Lion!
Thank you. I think you are very smart too Denise.
This is AWESOME, Gracey!!! I can’t wait to tell my Father. (He is a retired University Librarian.) Good job, and yes, I think it will help the children…
