Bissell Invites Animal Lovers to Help Homeless Pets Find Homes

Bissell Pack of Pet Lovers

27 Jun

Bissell Homecare, Inc, has been a long time supporter of pet adoption, is launching an online fundraising campaign to help homeless pets across the country find loving forever homes. From today through September, for each new fan that registers on Bissell’s Facebook page, the company will donate 50 cents to the Petfinder.com Foundation towards its goal of $50,000 in 2011.

The Petfinder.com Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that works with animal shelters and rescues across North America to make sure no adoptable pet is euthanized for lack of a home. Bissell’s $50,000 gift to the foundation will fund many shelters and rescue groups in need of help.

Research shows that many Americans don’t have pets because of the messes they make. According to Rich Sorota, senior vice president and general manager of global marketing and sales for Bissell, 38% of Americans not sharing their home with a pet would invite a pet in if the home clean-up was easier.

To help spread the word that pet clean-up need not be an obstacle to pet adoption, Bissell is inviting pet lovers across the United States and Canada to join the campaign via its Facebook page this summer. Those of you who are not yet fans of Bissell’s Facebook page can register and the company will make a 50 cent donation to the Petfinder.com Foundation. If you are already a fan, you can help by sharing this short video with your friends and family and encourage them to participate too.

“As a company and as pet owners ourselves, we are passionate about supporting the pet community and serving as a resource for pet owners,” said Sorota. “With this campaign, we aim to help more Americans understand that cleaning up after pets doesn’t have to be a chore and shouldn’t discourage people from adopting pets.”

Gracey, The Tiniest Tiger Loves Bissell

Friends,  I am a member of the Bissell Pack of Pet Lovers and we just returned from our visit to the Bissell headquarters in Grand Rapids.  I will be sharing more about our visit in the near future.  I want you to know that Bissell supports the pet community through contribution to more than 100 U.S. pet charities totaling over $200,000 per year. The company is committed to providing pet owners with easy to use pet clean-up products. If you would like more information on the complete line of Bissell pet products, cleaning tips and more, please visit the online Pet Lovers Community at www.bissell.com/pets

Thank you for sharing helping our cousins find their new loving forever homes.  I was rescued as a kitten and I wish all cats a loving home just like mine.

Joanne McGonagle Namibia

Hi, I’m Joanne and I love all cats. With a Global Field Master of Zoology degree focused on big cat conservation, I like to learn and talk about big cats too. I share my habitat with Paul and we were adopted by our cats Annie, Eddie and Bob.

The Tiniest Tiger has a fierce following of cat lovers and we’d love it, if you’d join us.
