From Heartbroken to One Happy Cat
Maggie was heartbroken when she lost Marie, the only cat parent she had known. She came into our home when Annie and Eddie were just a few months old and kittens will be kittens. Maggie did the best she could but she just wasn’t happy sharing her house with the energetic kittens. And Maggie was also overweight, weighing 15 lbs when she arrived last June. She had trouble breathing and didn’t want to play and she was only four years old. Today, Maggie is one happy cat.
The Pictures Tell Maggie’s Story

Maggie on her bench that we brought from Marie’s house. You can see the sadness in her eyes.
Maggie would visit me in my office and that is when I realized she had some trouble breathing.
Poor Maggie. Every where she went, a kitten would shortly follow.
“Serenity Now!” might be what Maggie was thinking every day the kittens were around.
I knew Maggie was not going to be happy living with Annie and Eddie. Marie’s friend Vicki agreed to open her heart and home to Maggie.
And then, we thought she would feel even better if she could lose some weight. So Dr. Teresa at the Morris Veterinary Clinic checked Maggie’s health and she weighed in at 13.1 lbs.
After careful measuring and analysis, it was decided that Maggie’s weight should be 7.7 lbs and she began the Hill’s Metabolic Advanced Weight Solution.
And here is Maggie today weighing 11 lbs! She is right on track with her program.
Maggie loves being an only cat in her house where she is pampered by Vicki and Kenny. She gets to spend time in her fenced in yard where she has taken the job of guarding her chickens. Maggie is running up and down the stairs and all around the yard having a great time. I was so happy to see Maggie looking happy and healthier that I cried happy tears. Maggie is once again a happy cat.

Sweet Maggie, happy again. Sometimes it’s hard for a cat that’s been the only pet to adapt to having other cats around, especially energetic kittens. I’m glad Maggie has a new home where she can be happy and healthy.
