June is Adopt-A-Cat Month
June is Adopt-A-Cat Month®, the American Humane Association’s outreach effort to find more homes for shelter cats and kittens. Spring is “kitten season” when thousands of newborn kittens join the millions of cats already waiting in shelters for their forever homes. Last year we adopted Annie and Eddie from Grayson County Humane Society after seeing Annie’s sweet face on Facebook.
We are preparing to celebrate Annie and Eddie’s first anniversary of their adoption day! It is so hard to believe that a year has gone by already. Our little kittens have grown up to be young cats and they are still just as sweet as they were the day we brought them home.
Here is the first photo that I took of Annie at home. I love this photo because it captures Annie’s personality just perfectly. You can see her sweetness but also just a touch of mischief.

Annie’s Message
Just a few short months ago, I was waiting for my forever home in a cage with Eddie at the Grayson County Humane Society. Donna and her team took really great care of us. They made sure we were loved, received snuggles and attention so we would be socialized and ready for adoption. The Grayson team makes sure they capture the best photo of all cats and dogs at the shelter so that when the photos are shared, people from all over will see their faces with the hope that someone will fall in love and adopt them.

Annie and Eddie’s Adoption Day
Annie and Eddie’s Adoption Day!
Saturday morning Paul and I loaded up the vehicle with a carrier, water and snacks and headed off to Grayson County Humane Society. Since June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, we decided we would do just that x 2. We have a home, and many cats need a home so we thought, we might as well adopt a couple of cuties and bring them into our family. Annie’s photo grabbed our attention one day while Gracey and I were reading through some facebook posts. I told Gracey that Annie looked like she had spunk. I like to think that Gracey had a paw in choosing these little cats to come and share her habitat with us.
