Friends, do you recognize me? Do you think you would know my face anywhere? I mean, do you think that my face, Gracey, The Tiniest Tiger’s face, is one that you would know if you met me on the street? If I were lost ~shiver~, and I hope that never happens, do you think that you would know it was me if I cried out to you?
We Cats all have our unique personalities don’t we? I bet you know the individual traits of the Cats that share your habitat. And even if you live in a habitat with many Cats, or work and/or volunteer at a Shelter, you know that each Cat has a distinct personality. You can more than likely even distinguish which Cat is chatting or crying by their vocals.
What about our little cub in the photo above? We know this cub’s stripes are unique just like each of you have fingerprints. But do you think this Cub has a unique personality?
Some of you participated in the IAP Tiger Survey last year. This survey was posted on our Facebook page. The results showed 97% of the participants believe each Tiger is as unique as each human being. Yet, when participants were asked, “When I think of a Tiger, I think of one particular Tiger, only 32% answered yes, that they thought of one individual.
If you are not able to think of one Tiger in particular, please do not feel sad. It might just be that you have not had an opportunity to learn about the life story of an individual big cat. They are, after all, solitary creatures and elusive by nature and that makes them all the more intriguing doesn’t it?
The super positive results of the survey showed that 98% of you are worried about the future of all Tigers. And in order to worry, you must care. You, like me want to save this face.
When you look into the eyes of this cub, doesn’t your heart begin to melt? That is if you can tell us apart. I mean we both look super innocent, don’t we? We both have unique personalities and markings and we both need your help to survive and thrive in this world.
So looking at the two images above, and I know that it is very difficult for your eyes to differentiate between us, can you tell if I am on the left or on the right?
